How we started

It all started with the visionary ICM sisters

Our institution was established in 1926 by the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (ICM Sisters). It was recognised by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1931. It was upgraded as a High School in 1968 and as a Higher Secondary School in 1980.

It is the first High and Higher Secondary School in India/Asia. It is located at the heart of Chennai city near Anna flyover. It is nearly 93 years old and is a reputed institution serving for the Hearing Impaired children. Children from the age of 1 and half years up to 20 years are imparted education through modern techniques following purely aural oral method.

The aim of our institution is to prepare the Hearing Impaired students for the integration with the normal society. Classes range from Pre-School to Std XII. Hostel facilities are available for outstation students who hail from various districts and states. We have almost 58 classrooms well equipped with modern electronic devices which enhances the auditory stimulation of our students who have hearing loss.

We are very proud to say that we have given successful life to many Hearing Impaired children during the past years.
